• Shortlisted in the North West Entrepreneur of the Year awards 2013

    We're delighted to announce our managing partner Henna has been shortlisted in the North West Entrepreneur of the Year awards 2013. She was shortlisted in the highly contended 'Female Entrepreneur of the Year' category for her business achievements over the past year. The annual awards ceremony is the North West's premier business awards evening and recognises the outstanding contributions of North West business owners. The ceremony takes place Wednesday 16thOctober.

  • It’s that time of year again

    We’re delighted to be attending the Licensing Awards on Tuesday 10th September in London. The annual extravaganza hosts over 1200 licensors, licensees and retailers in the magnificent Great Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel.  We will be sponsoring the Best Licensed Brand Range – Soft and Hard Goods category and our managing partner, Henna, will be handing out the gong on the night.

    We’ll also be leaving a little surprise on everyone’s table so  keep an eye out!

  • Crazy for Cartoons

    As we hit the mid-point of the year, we’ve been reflecting on some of the industry highlights so far. One thing that springs to mind as a biggie this year is new movie releases – and animation has swept the board! The highly anticipated sequels and prequels of many blockbusters have topped the box office, with Despicable Me 2 having the best five day opening ever for an animated film. Not to forget Monsters University, Disney’s Planes, Turbo and The Smurfs 2 which are all set to become sizzling summer hits.

    And of course, with every successful movie release, come lots of opportunities for global licensing programmes. Everything from apparel to home wear will be on offer, allowing companies to monopolise on this booming trend.   • An exciting Licensing Expo

    The jetlag has passed and we have descended back down to earth with a bang but we are feeling very excited following our trip to Vegas. It was great to see a charismatic Gwyneth Paltrow showing just how much opportunity there is in business in her Keynote speech. Many aspiring business people have a lot to learn from her. Over the past 12 months we have been focussing our efforts on increasing our international operation. We spoke to lots of international licensors at Licensing Expo and there’s some very exciting 360 news on the horizon! Watch this space…

    As always, we like to keep updated with the latest happenings in the licensing industry. Here's our top three picks from the past couple of weeks:
    1. Game of Thrones AKA industry goldmine – There's been lots of talk this week about the book turned HBO TV show which recently finished its 3rd series.The fantasy epic has raked in the cash with licensed consumer products, from apparel, to figurines and collectables. In fact, it's the best selling merchandise on the HBO store, accounting for 75% of sales in 2012. That's an epic brand!
    2. Birthdays– It's been a big one for birthdays with super brand Winnie-the-pooh turning 90 this month.
